As the days begin to slowly lengthen, we cannot help but be stirred by feelings of anticipation and thoughts of new journeys.  I want to wish you all the very best that 2017 has to offer, and hope that your plans and dreams are fulfilled.

Life can be like a pilgrimage -  we follow unknown pathways seeking contentment and satisfaction, remembering along the way to demonstrate compassion and caring for others.

ANNOUNCING NEW WORKSHOPS FOR 2017:

FINDING YOUR VOICE

A 7 Week Workshop using Design Elements to Develop a Body of Work

at L'Atelier, 70 Durham St S, Madoc ON, K0K 2K0

Artists will:

• Work in any medium of their choice.

• Decide on a theme, and develop a series of related artworks. Choosing a theme is, perhaps, the greatest hurdle. Prior to Week 1, ideas on how to find a theme that is meaningful to the artist, will be sent to those who have committed to the 7 sessions.

• Commit to the 7 sessions, or jump in for individual sessions of your choice. (see fee schedule)

• Each session will start with a short reflection time and a brief “lecture” to set the framework for the day's work. (15 min. max)

• Sessions end with reflections and sharing (15-20 min. max) – most of the day is spent making art.

THE SESSIONS:

Week 1 – Feb. 4 – New Colour Combinations

Week 2 – Feb. 18 – Space and Scale

Week 3 – March 11 – Shape

Week 4 – March 25 – Texture

Week 5 – April 8 – Line

Week 6 – April 22 – Repetition and Variation

Week 7 – May 6 – Value

Sessions run from 9 am to 4 pm. Lunch from 12 to 1 pm (at the Barley Pub, or Hidden Goldmine Bakery, your choice.)

Maximum number of participants is 8, to allow space for artists to work comfortably.

FEE SCHEDULE:

All 7 Weeks - $380, payable by Jan. 31, 2017, ( or 4 cheques of $ 95 each, dated Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Jan. 27, and Jan. 31).

Individual Sessions - $75 each session, payable the day of the session. FOR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS, AT LEAST ONE WEEK'S NOTICE OF PARTICIPATION PRIOR TO THE SESSION IS REQUIRED, PLEASE.

To secure registration, please fill out the attached form and email (or snail mail) it to me (addresses below). Payment can be made through your bank's email transfer service, or by cheque to Barbara Chappelle.

Cancellation refund is: total fee less 10% if I am notified 7 days prior to workshop.

A NOTE ABOUT WEATHER: If winter weather conditions prove to be unfavourable for any of the Feb. and March workshops, the day will be cancelled with a full refund to the artists.
