The little foxes and coyotes love to roam and howl in their playground across the former gravel pit from our house. The natural world at our doorstep is a gift.

I am sorry but I am naive when it comes to painting. Although I find your painting charming, to me it doesn't look like woods.

No need to apologize. The longer one looks deeply into artworks, the more one's senses can be energized. Looking is more than Seeing - What sounds can you imagine? Can you Smell the earth, the plants? Are you reminded of natural Textures that you may have felt; can you Feel the wind? Do your Taste buds become stimulated? Enjoy your art-viewing adventures.
